45,600 MT Sugar Stevedoring and Bagging at Karaikal Port

To remedy the current sugar shortage, the Government of India initiated measures to support imports of raw sugar by the mills against future export commitments. Indian mills are finding it advantageous to import raw sugar to process and sell in the domestic market, as domestic sugar prices are currently well above the international prices, even after accounting for processing, transportation, and distribution costs, and future export obligations

The vessel MV Nord Maru arrived in the Karaikal Port with 45,600 MT of raw sugar. PSTS Logistics company provided stevedoring, bagging of cargo into two ton jumbo bags, storage and delivery of raw sugar for the first time!
